Director’s Message

Karnataka government has decided to open schools for grades 6-8. Therefore, I’m happy to announce that Chaman Bhartiya School will open the doors for our grade 6 and 7 learners from September 13, 2021, with the full timetable. Since July last year, I have looked forward to this day and hope we will soon be allowed to open the school for early years and grade 1-5 learners. I am convinced that we can open the school safely for the learners, even if the third wave of covid should come.

Our Director Allan Andersen and our Chairman Snehdeep Aggarwal were invited as speakers to a Webinar called ‘Wednesday Wisdom’ exclusively hosted by Business World. The topic of the webinar was : ‘Best of Both Worlds’ highlighted how Chaman Bhartiya School combines Indian and European best practices in our educational approach. The webinar was hosted by the Chairman and Editor-In-Chief of Business World, Dr. Annurag Batra. The webinar threw some light on how Chaman Bhartiya came to being, how we holistically merge European and Indian styles of education, how we tackled the covid-19 and so on.

It has been a great pleasure for us to start the new academic year. We can feel that the leaners are highly motivated and eager to connect to their classmates and the facilitators. During the summer, we have charged our batteries, and with two weeks of professional development, sharing and planning, we were ready for the new academic year, in whatever format it will be.

The first academic year of Chaman Bhartiya School is soon coming to an end. Covid made it necessary to open the school as an online school, even though we had reservations with regard to online learning for small children. But we did open online, and I have been positively surprised to see how much we have achieved – not everything we dreamt of as a school, but much more than I expected.

February’s new initiative was the “Sustainable community” project. We were delighted to see how engaged the children were in their project-work, even though they had to collaborate online. It is not easy to work in groups, even for grown-ups. Therefore, the activities planned were guided by teachers. The teachers helped the learners identify and define a problem they are passionate about, find the resources they need to solve the problem and end up with a solution or an action plan.
